Event: Laureus World Sport Awards 2014

Location: Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia


The Laureus Sports Awards is a prestigious event attracting sporting legends, Hollywood A-listers and celebrities from across the globe. A number of events are organised in the run up to and on the eve of the awards, including an intimate dinner for the members of the Laureus Academy, an event giving guests a feel for the stunning location, and of course the post awards party. Our client needed an expert team to help them coordinate and manage the local staff and ensure a world-class service at every event.



We arrived in the city the week before the event and met with the hotels and restaurants hosting the parties. This allowed us to assess the skills of the local event staff, get to grips with any communication issues and rework the logistics where necessary.

We spent time training the local bar staff to ensure they could provide an efficient tray service for guests on arrival, and we also developed their cocktail list and coached them on cocktail service.


One consultant, one event manager and four stunning cocktail barmen from the Splendid team worked each event and in addition we coordinated a team of 15 local hosts/hostesses and 2 flow managers.
